Courses for Adults with Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities for Organisations

We work in partnership with local organisations and service providers to ensure more adults with learning disabilities have the opportunity of accessing high quality courses that develop new knowledge in a chosen subject.

Our courses are designed to benefit and develop learners in gaining more confidence, knowledge and independence for everyday life.

These courses support the wellbeing and development of adults aged 19+ who have a mild to moderate learning disability. We can also provide courses to support adults with more complex needs with the wonderful support and knowledge of your own trained staff who can offer support to the personal and mobility care needs of learners.

For over 20 years we have worked with BCP Council and Dorset Council to provide courses to support adults with learning disabilities, the local community, and organisations through fully funded courses.

Choose a free course for your service users

Take a look at of the FREE courses we can deliver below – all we ask is that you have a suitable room for us to deliver in and can recruit eight or more adults to attend.

You will need to consider the level of support learners may need during the sessions as courses will have one Tutor. If required, we can supply one Learning Support Assistant to support the group (the Tutor or Learning Support Assistant are unable to provide personal care). This means that one-to-one support may be limited to ensure everyone gets the help they need. If you have learners who require this level of one-to-one support or have personal care needs, then your own carers, support workers and staff should also join learners on the course(s).

Once you have chosen your course/courses please submit a Course Request Form (one course per form) and then leave the rest to us!

If you would like to discuss the development of a bespoke project please email us at communitylearningteam@salbcp.com.

Our Mission

Our courses are designed to promote and support the learning and wellbeing of adults who have learning disabilities to help enable them to live more independent, happy and healthy lives within the local community. These skills can also increase opportunities for employment or working within the community.
