WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan)
2 hour workshop
During this session you will receive both group and individual support that will focus on developing and embedding strategies to help protect and maintain wellbeing and mental health. Whether this be to better manage stress or anxiety, build and strengthen confidence and self-esteem or to improve wellbeing and support while working from home. This session will help you to start reflecting on what is important to you and how to activate these thoughts into more positive behaviours.
Topics will include:
- What is wellbeing
- WRAP and the 5 Key Recovery Concepts
- Applying and embedding WRAP for ourselves and others
- Understand the acceptance of positive self-care
- Apply and adapt your WRAP to different areas of your life.
We have pre-programmed WRAP courses running throughout and we can also create bespoke courses to suit the needs of an organisation.
Awareness of Mental Health
6 hour session
During this session you will receive both group and individual support that will focus on better understanding mental ill health.
Topics will include:
- What is mental health vs mental ill health
- What might increase the risk of becoming mentally unwell
- Exploring several different mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, eating disorders and stress
- Understanding and exploring strategies to strengthen and maintain mental wellness
- How to support someone experiencing
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)
6 x 2 hour or 4 x 3 hour sessions
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is an internationally recognised training course which teaches people how to spot the signs and symptoms of mental ill health and provide help on a first aid basis. Through a blend of 6 x 2 hour or 4 x 3 hour instructor-led live (face to face or online) sessions and self-learning activities, this practical skills and awareness course is designed to give you:
- A deeper understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect a person’s wellbeing, including your own
- Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
- Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
- Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
- Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to appropriate support
MHFA England training won’t teach you to be a therapist, but just like physical first aid, it will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis.
Understanding Mental Health Level 3
Level 3 Understanding Mental Health NCFE CACHE Certificate
This qualification is designed to increase your knowledge and understanding of mental health and mental well-being. Successful completion of the required units will allow you to develop in-depth knowledge and understanding of mental health. It will also support progression into relevant employment within the health and social care sector. This qualification will focus on the study of mental health and mental well-being to support different occupational areas, and offer breadth and depth of study, incorporating a key core of knowledge and understanding. The objectives of this qualification are to help you to understand:
- Mental health legislation, services and public attitudes and how these have evolved
- How to support mental well-being through various stages of life
- Mental ill-health, treatment options available and the potential consequences of mental ill-health
- The skills required to work in a mental health service
This is a distance learning qualification course where you will use an e-learning package and complete assessment activity electronically. You will be supported by a tutor who will provide feedback (electronically) on your progress and will suggest other learning activities to help you develop the knowledge and understanding you require to successfully complete the qualification.
