The Community Engagement and Learning Team
Our small but dynamic team works with local communities throughout Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole and Dorset to develop new and exciting learning opportunities.
We offer a wide range of classes and courses for all our adult residents. Our programmes include arts and craft, language, photography and general interest courses, all of which are noted for helping learners to make new friends and increase their confidence.
Our aims include reducing isolation, promoting health and wellbeing, improving life chances for families, bringing communities together and promoting independent living through maximising access to community learning.
Often working with other organisations, we offer supported learning courses to help meet the needs of specific groups, such as carers or those experiencing low mood who need time out in a supportive environment. We also have courses for those who need a bit more support with their learning to help them achieve their goals.
The Community Learning Team works in six main areas:
- Voluntary and Third Sector Projects
- Family Learning
- Personal Development
- Demand-led Community Projects
- Leisure and Learning Courses
