This marvellous AgeWell course will help you to improve health, fitness and mobility with a gentle introduction to dance and movement in a friendly and supportive setting.

What the course is about

Dance and movement is a fantastic way for you to express yourself whilst staying fit and healthy. During this course you will be introduced to the basic principles of dance and movement exploring different genres as the course progresses. Learning takes place in a relaxed and friendly setting. You will be taken through a warm up and stretching movements, on to gentle exercise with a variety of tempos and a final warm down. You will be encouraged to move at your own pace and consideration will be made of those who need to use a chair. The music used will be representative of many genres and will suit the activity being undertaken. Although the emphasis is on gentle introduction, this is a physical activity and you should be realistic about your own fitness at the start of the course. Don’t overdo it! If in doubt, consult your doctor. This course offers an avenue for creative pursuits, improving your health and well being. The friendly classroom environment is a great place for social interaction and helping you meet new people.
