Art for Beginners: Painting Landscapes

Course Code:PL1259F

Spaces:7 spaces left

Centre:Bourne Community Hub

This five-week course will introduce you to drawing and painting landscapes- with a view to developing your practice and increasing your skill at catching a pleasing representation of the scene on paper.

What the course is about

Landscape art is typically described as a painting or photograph in which the subjects are of nature. While every artist has his own style of creating landscape art, this genre is typically grouped into three categories: representational, impressionistic and abstract.

During this course you will receive both group and individual support in order to help you learn more about landscape painting.

Some artists prefer to create a landscape painting so they can study and explore various contributing elements of the picture, like light, shades, colour and texture.

This course is suitable for complete beginners and those with some experience, introducing you to a variety of drawing and painting media and enabling you to discover and explore a variety of techniques to create a landscape in pencil, charcoal, pastel, watercolour and acrylic paint.

All our courses are made up of elements of speaking & listening, reading and writing, and you will work using these elements throughout the course.

Some of the skills you gain on this course could help increase your opportunities for employment or working within the community. Learning takes place in a friendly classroom setting, which is a great place for social interaction and helping you meet new people.

Practice at home and completion of homework is advisable to enhance your learning experience.

This course is subsidised by Government funding so you should aim to attend the whole course.
