An informal conversation class with opportunities to practise speaking English and gain confidence as well as learn and use some new vocabulary and phrases.

What the course is about

The course is for anyone who would like to practise their spoken English in a fun and informal way. There will be a qualified ESOL tutor who will lead the conversation and introduce relevant vocabulary and phrases as well as corrections and pronunciation. Some grammar points may be covered too.

Pre-course information session or interview

The tutor will meet you at the first session. This course is online. If the course is not the right level for you, your tutor can advise you to join another conversation class at a more suitable level.

Assessment of progress, tests, exams

The tutor will set some objectives with you at the beginning if the course. There is no formal assessment test or exam with this course.

Who the course is for / Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications

The course is for anyone who would like to practise English. No qualifications are needed. You need to be at the right level for the course title.

Materials and costs

Fees and concessions

The total charge for this course is £106. Concessions FREE.

You could study this course for free if you:

  • Receive Jobseeker’s Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance or any other state benefit.
  • Are unemployed or under employed.
  • Receive take home pay (disregarding Universal Credit and other benefits) less than £494 a month (if you are a sole adult in your benefit claim) or £782 a month (if you have a joint benefit claim with your partner).
  • Earn less than £20,319pa.

If you’re not eligible, you can pay via an Instalment Plan or by paying the full course fee upfront.
