Who the course is for / Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications

This course is specifically designed for adults who have a mild to moderate learning disability and may be particularly helpful to those who are working towards gaining independent living skills or when a qualification course is not the right option.

You will need to consider the level of support you may need during the sessions as the course will have one tutor and if appropriate, one learning support assistant. This means that one-to-one support may be limited to ensure that everyone gets the help they need. However, we do provide a limited number of spaces so that your carer or support worker can also attend the course with you, should you require.

You do not need any previous experience in the subject but should have an interest in your own potential and what life has to offer. You will need to be prepared to take an active part in the sessions and to work in a group setting.

Materials and costs

You will need a notebook, pen and A4 folder.

During the first session your tutor may discuss additional materials to bring if possible.
