Come along and have some fun with your child exploring a range of Festive themed arts and crafts in a welcoming and friendly setting.

What the course is about

During this course you will receive both group and individual support to explore a range of Festive crafts. This is the perfect opportunity to spend time being creative with your child. There will be a range of activities to explore.



Topics that may be included:




  • Paper craft - card making

  • Drawing & Painting

  • Simple Sewing



All our courses are made up of elements of speaking & listening, reading and writing and you will work using these elements throughout the course.



Some of the skills you gain on this course could help increase your opportunities for employment or working within the community. Learning takes place in a friendly classroom setting, which is a great place for social interaction and helping you meet new people.



Practice at home and completion of homework is advisable to enhance your learning experience.



This course is subsidised by Government funding so you should aim to attend the whole course.

This course is for parents, grandparents and carers of children under 16.

Assessment of progress, tests, exams

Your tutor will work with you to develop a Personal Development Plan (PDP) which will help you review your progress towards achieving your goals during the course.



There is no qualification or examination attached to this course.

Who the course is for / Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications

This course is for parents, grandparents and carers, of children under 16. It is for complete beginners or those who would like to refresh and share their skills.



This course is ideally suited for children aged 4 and above.



Maximum x 2 children per adult. Children must be supervised by an accompanying adult at all times. During sessions children are the sole responsibility of their accompanying adult.

Materials and costs

You will need a notebook, pen and A4 folder.



Please ensure that you and your child are wearing old clothing and shoes appropriate for painting and other craft activities.

Where learners do not attend the first session, without having given prior notice, Skills & Learning reserve the right to offer the place on the course to another learner; you will not be eligible for a refund it it is outside of the terms outlined in our cancellation policy.

Fully funded learners: if you have been offered a fully funded place on a course and no longer require it, you must advise us before the course starts so that your place can be offered to someone else. We reserve the right to withdraw future offers of fully funded places if you regularly do not start or complete funded courses.

Home study: you will be required to do significant study at home between sessions to assist with your learning and progress.

Proof of identity: please bring photographic ID and your National Insurance number with you to your first session. You will also need to provide it for any external examinations you take.

Off-site activities: with some courses, there may be the opportunity for off-site enrichment activities at additional cost, for example: gallery, museum or exhibition visits. Where this is an integral part of the course, your tutor will discuss the arrangements with you during your induction.
