Come along and have some fun with your child as you learn Face Painting techniques in a welcoming and friendly setting – please be aware max 2 children per adult and course costs includes the basic face painting kit for you to take away.

What the course is about

A friendly and informal learning course on how to paint faces or you may choose to paint emblems or motif on a hand or arm ready for parties or just having fun at home. You will learn the best way to apply the bases and brush on the details, using photos and books to give you inspiration.



You will need to have clean hands and short nails for this activity. Please wear old clothes or an apron, as some of the paints will escape from the brush! If you know that you are likely to be allergic to the face paint product, please provide gloves to protect your hands. 



You may need to be a model for practice, please ensure you and your children are not allergic to any of the ingredients. We use Snazaroo's skin-friendly and cruelty-free water-based face paint & body paint. Easy To Apply & Clean Off. All our courses are made up of elements of speaking & listening, reading and some writing, and you will work using these elements throughout the course.



Some of the skills you gain on this course could help increase your opportunities for employment or working within the community. Learning takes place in a friendly classroom setting, which is a great place for social interaction and helping you meet new people.



Practice at home and completion of homework is advisable to enhance your learning experience.



This course is subsidised by Government funding so you should aim to attend the whole course.

Pre-course information session or interview

There are no Pre-course admission sessions or interviews in order to enrol on this course.

Your tutor will work with you to develop a Personal Development Plan (PDP) which will help you review your progress towards achieving your goals during the course.



There is no qualification or examination attached to this course.

Who the course is for / Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications

This course is for parents, grandparents and carers, of children under 16. It is for complete beginners or those who would like to refresh and share their skills.



This course is ideally suited for children aged 4 and above.



Maximum x 2 children per adult. Children must be supervised by an accompanying adult at all times. During sessions children are the sole responsibility of their accompanying adult.

 

Materials and costs

Fully funded learners: if you have been offered a fully funded place on a course and no longer require it, you must advise us before the course starts so that your place can be offered to someone else. Home study: you will be required to do significant study at home between sessions to assist with your learning and progress.

Proof of identity: please bring photographic ID and your National Insurance number with you to your first session. You will also need to provide it for any external examinations you take.

Off-site activities: with some courses, there may be the opportunity for off-site enrichment activities at additional cost, for example: gallery, museum or exhibition visits. Where this is an integral part of the course, your tutor will discuss the arrangements with you during your induction.
