Do you want to know more about what to grow and what to sow? What goes where and when it should be planted? How to garden on a limited budget or with limited space?
Adapting your garden to meet your needs, budget and space can be an exciting challenge, with a little extra know-how and improved skills.
During this course you will be introduced to:
- Seasonal gardening activities
- garden planning
- soil type and how to prepare for planting
- different types of plants
- how to manage weeds and other gardening problems
- how to make your garden nature and wildlife friendly
- how to grow your own plants for minimal outlay
This course is theory based but will included interactive gardening activities. Please dress for potential weather should an activity be outdoors and wear the appropriate closed toed footwear.
Please note that the classroom (Education Centre) is situated approximately 300 yards from the car park. A parking fee will apply in the car park, but learners will be eligible for a 10% discount on refreshments in The Tea Rooms in the courtyard.
All our courses are made up of elements of speaking & listening, reading and writing, and you will work using these elements throughout the course.
This course offers an avenue for creative pursuits, improving your health and wellbeing. The friendly classroom environment is a great place for social interaction and helping you meet new people.
Practice at home and completion of homework is advisable to enhance your learning experience.
