ICT for Business: Creating Effective Media Content

Our specialist digital teacher will help and support you as you learn about developing effective media content in the digital world. This course will be of particular interest to those thinking of starting their own business or looking to expand and improve their current business digital content. 

You will learn about such things as: 

• Design and Aesthetics 


• Understanding your market 


• The use of images, graphics and video 


• Elements of great media content 


• Get Creative: top tips and tricks 

Some of the skills you gain on this course could help increase your opportunities for employment or working within the community. 

Learning takes place in a friendly classroom setting, which is a great place for social interaction and helping you meet new people. 

Practice at home and completion of homework is advisable to enhance your learning experience. 

This course is subsidised by Government funding so you should aim to attend the whole course. 

There are no pre-course admission sessions or interviews in order to enrol on this course. 

Please ensure you have read and understood our STEPS guidance in order to accurately enrol upon the correct level course for you. 

Your tutor will work with you to develop a Personal Development Plan (PDP) which will help you review your progress towards achieving your goals during the course. 

There is no qualification or examination attached to this course. 

This is a Beginners course and anyone is welcome. You will be expected to have no experience in the subject or very basic knowledge of the subject, including some memory of the subject from school. 

You will need to be able to use a computer with confidence and have some understanding of digital skills such as using a digital camera or using online images. 

You will need a notebook, pen and A4 folder. 

During the first session your tutor may discuss additional materials to bring if possible such as a digital camera or camera phone.

English, maths and computing skills: all of our courses support the development of relevant English, maths and computing skills.

Attendance: before enrolling you should ensure that you can attend all classes offered as far as possible.

Places on courses: many of our courses are in high demand. If you have been offered a place but no longer require it, please advise us immediately as you may be preventing another learner from taking the place. Where learners do not attend the first session, without having given prior notice, Skills & Learning reserve the right to offer the place on the course to another learner; you will not be eligible for a refund it it is outside of the terms outlined in our cancellation policy.

Fully funded learners: if you have been offered a fully funded place on a course and no longer require it, you must advise us before the course starts so that your place can be offered to someone else. We reserve the right to withdraw future offers of fully funded places if you regularly do not start or complete funded courses.

Home study: you will be required to do significant study at home between sessions to assist with your learning and progress.

Proof of identity: please bring photographic ID and your National Insurance number with you to your first session. You will also need to provide it for any external examinations you take.

Off-site activities: with some courses, there may be the opportunity for off-site enrichment activities at additional cost, for example: gallery, museum or exhibition visits. Where this is an integral part of the course, your tutor will discuss the arrangements with you during your induction.
