ICT for Business: Prezi - The Basics
This useful new business course will help you develop and create outstanding presentations and will be especially useful if you are beginning the journey into developing your own business as it will help you stand out from the crowd.
What the course is about
Our specialist digital teacher will help and support you as you learn the basics of Prezi, a cloud-based graphic design tool that lets anyone create and share dynamic designs and data visualizations with ease! Create eye-catching social media posts, share results with interactive infographics or dashboards, and produce engaging animated visualizations.
This course will be of particular interest to those thinking of starting their own business or looking to expand and improve their current one.
You will learn about such things as:
- Understanding how the basic Prezi programme works
- How to create infographics, posters, social media posts, reports, and much more.
- Making engaging data visualizations
- How to share your content with others
Some of the skills you gain on this course could help increase your opportunities for employment or working within the community.
Learning takes place in a friendly classroom setting, which is a great place for social interaction and helping you meet new people.
Practice at home and completion of homework is advisable to enhance your learning experience.
This course is subsidised by Government funding so you should aim to attend the whole course.
Pre-course information session or interview
There are no pre-course admission sessions or interviews in order to enrol on this course.
Please ensure you have read and understood our STEPS guidance in order to accurately enrol upon the correct level course for you.
Assessment of progress, tests, exams
Your tutor will work with you to develop a Personal Development Plan (PDP) which will help you review your progress towards achieving your goals during the course.
There is no qualification or examination attached to this course.
Who the course is for / Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications
This is a Beginners course and you will be expected to have no experience in the subject or very basic knowledge of the subject, including some memory of the subject from school.
You will need to be able to use a computer and basic programmes with confidence.
Materials and costs
You will need a notebook, pen and A4 folder.
During the first session your tutor may discuss additional materials to bring if possible.

Fully funded learners: if you have been offered a fully funded place on a course and no longer require it, you must advise us before the course starts so that your place can be offered to someone else. We reserve the right to withdraw future offers of fully funded places if you regularly do not start or complete funded courses.
Home study: you will be required to do significant study at home between sessions to assist with your learning and progress.
Proof of identity: please bring photographic ID and your National Insurance number with you to your first session. You will also need to provide it for any external examinations you take.
Off-site activities: with some courses, there may be the opportunity for off-site enrichment activities at additional cost, for example: gallery, museum or exhibition visits. Where this is an integral part of the course, your tutor will discuss the arrangements with you during your induction.
