This course will enable you to learn new, or develop existing, ICT skills and gain a qualification at either Entry Level 2 or Entry Level 3. This course will run for 14 weeks with a class roomed based assessment at the end of the course.
Dependent on the level you are working at, the course may include the following subject areas:
- Information security
- E-mail using Microsoft Outlook
- Word processing using Microsoft Word
- Spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel
A variety of learning activities will be used including tutor demonstration, individual and group exercise, discussion, practical demonstration and work-based scenarios. You will also work through activity sheets and other resources designed to support the development of skills in each of the areas.
You will develop a personal learning plan with your tutor based on the results of an initial assessment of your current skills, which will allow you to work towards the level most suitable for you.
As a result, there will be a mix of full class teaching, and periods of individual activity as learners in the class work on their own areas of need.
To ensure you get the most out of your learning and to help you prepare for the assessments, it would be useful for you to be able to practise these skills between classes.
This is a course leading to a qualification. This course is paid for by public funding and you will be required to complete all the necessary coursework/assignments by the give deadlines.
What learners say about our courses
I just want to say how much I love the way you teach. I really enjoyed the course.
Thank you very much for teaching me and making me feel confident. I went for a trial day with an assessment last week. First I was a bit nervous, which I think is normal, but with every program I felt confident and just had to focus on what we learned in class. I've got a job now and will start in August.
