Come and spend the day in the beautiful surroundings of Magdalen Farm and let calmness descend as you learn about and practice mindfulness techniques. A truly inspirational day of learning.

What the course is about

In the unique setting of Magdalen Farm, surrounded by nature and wildlife you will receive both group and individual support from a qualified teacher in order to help you learn more about mindfulness.



You will be guided to become more aware of your thoughts and feelings so that you are better able to cope when you are feeling stressed or anxious.



During this course you will be supported in exploring simple breathing and relaxation techniques as well as mediative walks in the natural surroundings of the farm.



A healthy and locally sourced lunch and refreshments are provided by the farm for you to enjoy as part of this unique wellbeing day.



This course is participative and includes information giving, demonstration, discussion and working together. You will need to be prepared to take an active part in the sessions and to challenge some of your thoughts and beliefs. It offers an avenue for creative pursuits, improving your health and wellbeing.



All our courses are made up of elements of speaking & listening, reading and writing, and you will work using these elements throughout the course.



This course is subsidised by Government funding so you should aim to attend the whole course.

There is no qualification or examination attached to this course.

Who the course is for / Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications

This course is for complete beginners, and for those who would like to refresh or practice their mindfulness skills.

Materials and costs

You may like to bring along a notebook and pen and wear comfortable clothes and shoes.



Depending on the weather, it may be useful to have some wet weather clothing/boots available on the day - just in case.

If you have been offered a place but no longer require it, please advise us immediately as you may be preventing another learner from taking the place. Where learners do not attend the first session, without having given prior notice, Skills & Learning reserve the right to offer the place on the course to another learner; you will not be eligible for a refund it it is outside of the terms outlined in our cancellation policy.

Fully funded learners: if you have been offered a fully funded place on a course and no longer require it, you must advise us before the course starts so that your place can be offered to someone else. We reserve the right to withdraw future offers of fully funded places if you regularly do not start or complete funded courses.

Home study: you will be required to do significant study at home between sessions to assist with your learning and progress.

Proof of identity: please bring photographic ID and your National Insurance number with you to your first session. You will also need to provide it for any external examinations you take.

Off-site activities: with some courses, there may be the opportunity for off-site enrichment activities at additional cost, for example: gallery, museum or exhibition visits. Where this is an integral part of the course, your tutor will discuss the arrangements with you during your induction.
