During this popular workshop you will get the chance to refresh your sewing skills by hand or machine, and also learn some basic embellishment and decorative techniques.
You will have the chance to use fabric you have brought from home and make a project of your choice.
Examples of projects include:
- Starting to construct a quilt or throw from unused baby and toddler clothes (including baby grows)
- Turning old jeans into bags
- Using old pillowcases and duvet covers to make soft furnishing items and laundry bags
- Using old jumpers to make cushion covers with embellishment
This session can help you to cut your costs and by recycling and renewing, make the most of your existing wardrobe and furnishings, contributing to a greener environment, andhelping you financially.
All our courses are made up of elements of speaking & listening, reading and writing, and you will work using these elements throughout the course.
Some of the skills you gain on this course could help increase your opportunities for employment or working within the community. Learning takes place in a friendly classroom setting, which is a great place for social interaction and helping you meet new people.
