The aim of the CPD Thai Foot massage course is to introduce Therapists to Thai foot massage techniques in order to develop their professional skills and increase business opportunities.

What the course is about

Thai foot massage is a massage of the lower legs and feet that is well established in Thailand. It has elements of shiatsu, reflexology, Chinese massage and yoga. It involves stretching, massage and the use of a stick to stimulate reflex points. It balances mind and body and stimulates internal organs. The course covers: The history of Thai foot massage The principles and benefits of Thai foot massage Contra-indications and after care Couch and treatment Practical techniques to perform a Thai foot massage Health and safety Aftercare.

Pre-course information session or interview

The following screening questions will determine whether the course is suitable for you:




  • Are you a qualified therapist to at least Level 2 Beauty, Massage or Reflexology?

  • Are you able to provide evidence confirming your qualifications?

  • Are you (or have you been within the last three years) working in the industry?

  • Are you/or do you have experience of providing client consultations?

  • Do you, or do you agree to; maintain a record of CPD in accordance with the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) requirements?



AT LEAST 7 DAYS* BEFORE THE START DATE YOU WILL BE EMAILED A THEORY BOOKLET WHICH YOU SHOULD READ THOROUGHLY PRIOR TO THE COURSE DATE. You will also need to complete some activities and a theory test prior to the course date and bring with you for assessment at the start of the course. Please note, all theory tests and activities need to be completed in order to proceed with the practical training and at the time of enrolment you will need to provide an email address to enable us to forward this information to you. *if you enrol within 7 days of the start date you will still need to bring your completed activities and theory test with you. Assessment of progress, tests, exams

Your tutor will observe your progress and give feedback throughout the session. There is no qualification or examination attached to this course. Upon successful completion you will receive a Certificate of Attendance, listing learning outcomes, to confirm completion of training and competence in this therapy. Completion of this course counts as 5 CDP points. Please note: certificates can only be issued on successful completion of the course. If the tutor feels this has not been achieved on the day they will discuss opportunities for further training with you.

Who the course is for / Previous experience, knowledge or qualifications

This course is for qualified Therapists only who will need to meet the pre-course assessment questions. Before enrolling please check the section on Contra-indications to ensure the course is suitable for you. Contra-indications: Your safety and comfort is important. As with any treatments there are contra-indications to consider which may affect your attendance, involvement and participation on the course. This also applies for all other students on the course and anyone you are paired with for practice purposes. Therefore, if you have any concerns PLEASE ADVISE US and we will liaise with the tutor for further guidance.

Materials and costs

Essential resources required to achieve your qualification:- You will need to wear the following therapy clothing: Short sleeve therapy top T-shirt Loose fitting trousers/leggings Flat enclosed shoes As a qualified professional you will already have your own kit and will need to provide adequate towels/pillows and supports in order to set up a therapy couch properly, as follows: Towels Blanket/Throw Cushions Please bring note-taking equipment e.g. (notebook/pen/tablet)/personal journal. We will provide: Couch for treatment practice Plain talc Base oil with dispenser Antiseptic wipes Antibacterial hand gel Disposable Gloves There are no subsidies or concessions available on this course.

Where learners do not attend the first session, without having given prior notice, Skills & Learning reserve the right to offer the place on the course to another learner; you will not be eligible for a refund it it is outside of the terms outlined in our cancellation policy.

Fully funded learners: if you have been offered a fully funded place on a course and no longer require it, you must advise us before the course starts so that your place can be offered to someone else. We reserve the right to withdraw future offers of fully funded places if you regularly do not start or complete funded courses.

Home study: you will be required to do significant study at home between sessions to assist with your learning and progress.

Proof of identity: please bring photographic ID and your National Insurance number with you to your first session. You will also need to provide it for any external examinations you take.

Off-site activities: with some courses, there may be the opportunity for off-site enrichment activities at additional cost, for example: gallery, museum or exhibition visits. Where this is an integral part of the course, your tutor will discuss the arrangements with you during your induction.
