Wedding & Festival Flower Crowns

During this course you will receive both group and individual support in order to help you learn more about making beautiful flower crowns that really make a statement. These can range from formal to fancy designs, allowing your imagination to run free.

You will be shown how to design and then make an arrangement, as simple or as complicated as you feel the arrangement needs to be, to represent your chosen theme. If you have any accessories, such as ribbons or other decorative elements that you would like to include in the design, please bring them along.

This course aims to introduce you to some basic floristry techniques that are required to create these designs. After learning these floristry skills, you will be able to build and develop more advanced floral designs which you can then share with and impress your family and friends.

All our courses are made up of elements of speaking & listening, reading and writing, and you will work using these elements throughout the course.

Some of the skills you gain on this course could help increase your opportunities for employment or working within the community. Learning takes place in a friendly classroom setting, which is a great place for social interaction and helping you meet new people.

Practice at home and completion of homework is advisable to enhance your learning experience.

This course is subsidised by Government funding so you should aim to attend the whole course.

There are no Pre-course admission sessions or interviews in order to enrol on this course.

Your tutor will work with you to develop a Personal Development Plan (PDP) which will help you review your progress towards achieving your goals during the course.

There is no qualification or examination attached to this course.

This is a Beginners course, and you will be expected to have no experience in the subject or very basic knowledge of the subject, including some memory of the subject from school.

You will need a notebook and pen.

Please bring along a selection of flowers in colours that you will enjoy using. You will need no more than 7 main blooms, perhaps some smaller flowers and some complementary foliage, if available. These can be anything that you have in your garden, or can buy inexpensively at the supermarket or market flower stall.

You may also wish to bring along a container, like a tray or basket, to use to transport your design home.

You should not wear open toed shoes in the classroom, for your own safety. You may wear an apron to protect your clothing.

If you suffer from known allergies to flowers or foliage, we advise you to bring protective gloves.

Other materials will be provided but before buying expensive materials and equipment please discuss their purchase with your tutor.
