Computing courses
We are now offering all our ICT courses in the classoom. Some higher level courses are also being offered online and asa blended learning (a mixture of face to face learning and online delivery). You can apply to join an ICT course by completing the online application or by calling our Customer Services department for assistance.
We offer a range of computing courses from our beginner’s Refresh Your Computer Skills to ECDL Extra at Level 2. Our courses usually are held at a number of venues across Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole at different times of the day and evening as well as on Saturdays. These courses are not fully funded by the government and some learners will need to pay a fee to attend.
Online and distance learning work shifts? Don’t have someone to look after the children so you can go to class? When you attend an Admission Session ask about our English, maths, ESOL and ICT distance/online learning opportunities.
Our accredited ICT courses (Improve your Computer Skills, Enhance your Computer Skills and ECDL Extra) will help you:
- Improve your job prospects
- Develop skills in using ICT
- Gain a nationally-recognised qualification
- In order to enrol on any of our accredited ICT courses, you can either complete an online application or contact our Customer Services team on 01202 262300 or 01305 819059 to book onto an admission session. You can also email enquiries@salbcp.com
- At the admission session you will then receive further information and advice and have the opportunity to ask questions about the course



A three-week short course for learners who have little to no experience of using computers and wish to develop basic computing skills. There is no exam or assessment and course content may vary depending on learners’ needs.

Enhance your Computer Skills (Certificate in IT User Skills Level 1 – Level 2)
This 22 week course (11 week intensive) is for learners with some experience of using a computer, who wish to further develop their skills. This course will cover topics such as:
- Word Processing
- Spreadsheets
- Presenting and communicating information using IT
- Improving productivity using IT
You will be assessed via a portfolio of evidence compiled throughout the course.
ECDL Extra (Level 2)
- Word Processing
- Presentation Software
- Spreadsheets
- Improving Productivity using IT
You will take an exam at the end of each module.
