GCSEs – English, Maths & Biology

We offer a range of GCSE subjects to support personal development and career progression or to help you access further study and Higher Education. These are intensive courses which require significant commitment and self-study.

You need to be working to at least Level 1 to join a GCSE course. Depending on the results of your assessment, you may be enrolled first on a Functional Skills qualification course to help you develop the foundation skills required before progressing to a GCSE. Similarly, if English is your second language, you may be advised to join one of our ESOL courses first.

How do I join a GCSE English or GCSE Maths course in September 2020?

You will be required to attend an Admissions Session to apply for a place on a GCSE English or GCSE Maths course.

At the Admission session you will be provided with information about the course to help you make an informed decision about your suitability. Your current level of English and/or Maths skills will be assessed and you will be interviewed by a member of our team. The outcome of your skills assessment may determine that a Functional Skills English or Maths course is more appropriate for you.

When are GCSE English and Maths Admission Sessions?

Admission sessions run from June to August and places are offered on a first come, first served basis. Our GCSE courses usually fill up quickly, so please apply in plenty of time as enrolments cannot be accepted once the course has started in September.

Much of your success in your GCSE studies depends on your ability to demonstrate proficiency in English; evidence of this will be decisive in reviewing your application.
