A wide range of support options are available to help you. Some of these are:
- Support to find out about courses
- Concessionary fees and other financial support
- Transport assistance
- Extra time or special help with exams
- Arrange for hearing loops or BSL Interpreter
- Provide extra equipment or resources
- Help the tutor to support you
- Help with access to a venue
- Provide someone to help you in the classroom
We will use this information to try to meet your needs and arrange the adjustments you have requested. We may contact you to discuss your needs in more detail so that you can benefit fully from your course. We will share information about your support needs with your tutor.
Equipment and Technology
Staff are available, after discussion or assessment, to help you use specialist equipment or software which may include:
- Laptop computers
- Screen magnifier facilities
- Video cameras
- Induction Loop Systems
- Adjustable tables
We will try to obtain any specialist equipment you need within the limits of the funds we have available. To enable this to happen we need to know about your needs as soon as possible.
Assistance may be provided, as appropriate, in the form of taxis or adapted vehicles.

Reduced fees are available on many courses. Details of these may be found in our Terms & Conditions
Some learners will qualify for a reduced fee on course numbers prefixed with A or L. The benefits which we take into account are Job-Seekers Allowance (JSA), Employment Support Allowance in the Work Related Activity Group (ESA (WRAG). Please contact us on 01202 123444.
Concessionary Fee (CF) courses are for learners in receipt of certain benefits or holders of an Access to Leisure and Learning Card.
Payments in instalments can be arranged for some courses.
Please note: There are no Concessionary Fees on some courses. We also help learners whose income falls within certain levels. You are required, however, to take up any entitlement to Government assistance, or be refused entitlement, before we can offer you any support from our funds. You will need to obtain a form from one of our centres, once completed, submit it for approval.
