What is a beauty therapy course?

A beauty and therapies course relates to the training and application of a wide range of treatments and cosmetic techniques. Our beauty and therapies courses are a great way to find a new passion, discover new job prospects or build on your existing skills. Beauty therapy skills and specialities include massage, skin care, nail care and cosmetics

What does a beauty therapy course entail?

We offer many different courses for training in specialist areas of beauty and therapies including, Beauty Specialist Techniques, Nail Treatment, Nail Technology, Massage and Sports Massage. Depending on which course you choose you will study: the theory of treatments, health and safety, correct hygiene practices and the techniques and practical application of your chosen course.

The course involves practical study in one of our Training Salons in Bournemouth and Poole, studying weekly with a class, dedicated tutor and support staff. Some courses also involve some home study.

How long is a beauty therapy course?

Depending on the subject area and level you choose to study, our courses are between 13 and 35 weeks. Shorter courses include the Level 1 Introduction to the Hair and Beauty Sector. Longer, specialist courses including Level 3 Massage, and Level 3 Sports Massage are held once a week for 30 weeks. The Level 2 Beauty Specialist course is held two days a week over 34 weeks, and Liquid and Powder Nail Enhancements is 1 day a week for 34 weeks.

What does beauty therapy include?

A beauty and therapies course allows you to gain the necessary practical skills and knowledge to provide beauty treatments and therapies and open the door to employment in the industry or to start your own business. Our tutors can give you industry specific experience and knowledge. All learners gain real life salon experience using professional products, a great foundation for further study or work in the sector.
