Studying GCSE English with us is a great way to develop your English skills and gain a recognised academic qualification.
GCSE English at Skills & Learning
We offer intensive 9-month GCSE English courses which start in September, with exams in May/June. Our tutors will support you throughout your course, but you must be prepared to complete homework and study independently in between classes. English and Maths GCSE courses may be fully funded by the Government if you do not already have a grade 4 (C) or above in the subject. Please head to our finance page or contact us to find out more about your options.
If you’re not ready to study English at GCSE level, we also offer other English courses and qualifications. Please click here to find out more. We also offer GCSE Maths and Biology.
If you don’t speak English and are looking to learn, explore our ESOL (English for speakers of other languages) courses here.
Our tutors and exam team will work with you and support you through both your course and your exams to help you achieve your goals.
Small, supportive classes
Our small class sizes mean you have the perfect learning environment – friendly, welcoming, and supportive.

Please note our GCSE English courses usually open for enrolments in June/July, start in September and finish in May/June. Sign up to our mailing list or like us on Facebook to be the first to hear when courses start enrolling. Late enrolments are not accepted.
All learners enrolling on GCSE English courses will need to attend an Admission Session and complete an initial assessment. This is a chance for us to get to know you and identify your starting level, as well as discuss any support needs, so that we can provide you with the best learning experience.
How do I enrol?
1. Once you know you would like to study a GCSE with us, please book yourself an admission session. This is a chance for us to meet you, assess your current working level and ensure you are placed on the best course for you.
2. After your admission session, we will offer you a place on a course best suited to your ability. You can then enrol for this online. We will try our best to offer you a course at a convenient time and place for you based on your needs.
