We are continually reviewing and improving our website to enhance accessibility and usability for all visitors.

Accessibility Features

We aim to provide:

  • Clear and consistent navigation.
  • Easy-to-read content and page layouts.
  • Responsive design that works across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
  • Structured content using headings and logical page organisation.
  • Ongoing improvements to support a wide range of users and technologies.

Accessibility Tool

This website includes an accessibility toolbar provided by UserWay to support users in customising their experience.

You can activate this tool by selecting the accessibility icon (a blue circle with an eye symbol) visible on the website.

The toolbar provides features such as:

  • Adjusting text size and spacing.
  • Changing colour contrast and background settings.
  • Highlighting links.
  • Pausing animations.
  • Enabling dyslexia-friendly fonts.
  • Other visual and navigation enhancements.

These tools are intended to support accessibility but do not replace the need for ongoing improvements to the website itself. We continue to work towards meeting recognised accessibility standards across all content and functionality.

Technical Information About This Website’s Accessibility

Skills & Learning Adult Community Education is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

Compliance Status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard due to the non-compliances listed below.

External Linked Site – WebEnrol Online Payment Portal

The WebEnrol payment portal used for online course bookings does not currently meet all accessibility requirements. Known issues include:

  • Some timetable functions are not fully accessible using a keyboard (WCAG 2.1.1 Keyboard).
  • Keyboard focus is not always clearly visible (WCAG 2.4.7 Focus Visible).
  • Some text and button combinations do not meet minimum colour contrast requirements (WCAG 1.4.3 Contrast (Minimum)).
  • Some links rely on colour alone to indicate their purpose (WCAG 1.4.1 Use of Colour).

This portal is provided and maintained by a third-party supplier. We are working with the supplier to improve accessibility through future software updates and release cycles.

Continuous Improvement

We are committed to regularly reviewing our website and making improvements to ensure it remains accessible and user-friendly for all visitors.
