This is a 2 hour period during which you need to be available to talk to one of our Admission Team on the phone, to help you choose the right course for you. Although the phone call will not take 2 hours, you will need to be available during that allocated time as we can't give a specific time slot
What the course is about
During this session you will be phoned to :
Discuss your current skills and ability levels in your required subject
Have a discussion to identify your learning goals and identify any learning needs or preferences you have
Be given support with choosing the right course for you
Understand what the course is about and answer any questions you may have about your learning
Pre-course information session or interview
You will need to submit an application form online
You will receive confirmation that we have received your application
You will then be sent an Email asking you to complete a BKSB assessment to assess what level you are working at and what key areas you might need to work on

Assessment of progress, tests, exams
Current ability levels will be checked and you will be told the level you are working at along with some information about your learning gaps. This will help us to identify the correct level and type of course for you to enrol on.

This Admission session is for new learners who wish to join one of our courses.
Materials and costs
You may wish to have a pen and paper available in case you want to make your own notes.
You may also be interested in discussing some other learning opportunities that will help you move into work, or help you to develop your career. We offer a lot of other courses that may also be of interest to you.
Attendance: before enrolling you should ensure that you can attend all classes offered as far as possible
Before the first session of your course: you must let us know early if you decide to give up your place on your course. We will send you a reminder by mobile text 3 days prior to the course start date.
You may also be asked to complete a further, more detailed assessment of your skills before the first session so that your tutor can plan your learning to meet your needs. Details will be given to you at the enrolment session.
Proof of identity: please bring photographic ID and your National Insurance number with you to this enrolment session. You will also need to bring your chosen payment method if you are looking to enrol on one of our ICT courses. Proof of identity will be required for taking exams/tests or Assessments.
Home study: you may be required to do some study at home between sessions to assist with your learning and progress.
